A CNBC and LinkedIn survey that questioned over 1,000 workers revealed that 50 percent of men believe that their employees pay men and women workers equally, whereas only 25 percent of women believe they’re paid equally. In terms of promotion ranks, more than half of the surveyed men thought that their company’s promotion ranks were equal between men and women. In 2018, women earn 80.5 cents for every dollar a man makes. Despite this fact, half of the men in the survey didn’t think women held a more disadvantaged position in the workplace. The good news? Younger generations of men are more conscious of the obstacles women face to succeed at work and we can only hope, are willing to do something to change it.
